HardTrak™ Leg Gaiters - Spring Turkey Edition

If you are looking for leg gaiters that can take the extremes of any environment in the world...you have come to the right place. Overbuilt is an understatement. We use a 1000D/500D Cordura Nylon and a 400D pack cloth layering system, which stops water in its tracks (we have done tests...lots of tests). The durability of our materials and construction also prevents the leg gaiter from sliding down your leg. Rubber and Leather for the under boot strap will not last, nor will the buckling systems which tend to fail with heavy use. We utilize a USA Made Stainless Steel underwire with a rubber coating, which helps mitigate any substantial rubbing to the bottom of your boot. The wire starts at the D ring below the snap hook, goes under the boot, through the opposite D ring, back under the boot, and clips into the back snap hook. The leg gaiters feature a #10 YKK zipper and hook and loop Velcro closure, which is located in the back of the leg gaiters. This is to prevent debris and moisture from entering the opening and closure of the gaiter as you walk. Additionally, you have the option to tighten the top portion of the leg gaiters via elastic, hook, and loop. This is to maximize comfort and prevent moisture and debris from entering at the top. A G hook in the front of the leg gaiters can be used to maximize coverage around the laces.

Why Don't We Call the HardTrak™ "Snake Resistant"?

We get asked this question all the time, and the answer is simple: we don't believe it's responsible to make a claim that isn't based on a universally accepted industry standard.

Today, there is no universally recognized standard that defines what qualifies as a "snake-resistant" gaiter. Manufacturers use a variety of testing methods, including proprietary puncture tests, internal protocols, and live snake demonstrations—but those methods are not based on a single industry standard that allows consumers to make direct, apples-to-apples comparisons. The reality is that no controlled test can perfectly replicate every encounter with a wild snake, where species, fang size, strike angle, bite location, and countless other variables all come into play.

Instead of marketing the HardTrak™ as "snake resistant," we'd rather tell you exactly what it's built from. The HardTrak™ features a rugged 1000D Nylon outer shell backed by a tightly woven 420D Nylon packcloth liner. These materials are substantially heavier and more durable than those commonly found in lightweight hunting gaiters. While we do not claim the HardTrak™ will stop every snake bite or prevent fang penetration, we believe this construction provides meaningful additional protection compared to thinner, lightweight hunting gaiter materials.

Our philosophy is simple: we'd rather build the toughest, most durable hunting gaiter possible and be transparent about what it is than rely on marketing claims that cannot be verified by a universally accepted testing standard.
